Every Ranch Has a Story. Ours Has a Name.
Lakyn's Ranch was built on faith, hard work, and hope.
In May 2023, our daughter Lakyn was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Despite a difficult prognosis, she courageously endured intensive treatment and entered remission. During that time, Lakyn found horses, and they brought her joy, peace, and purpose.
Wanting a place where she could ride and enjoy the life she fought so hard for, we purchased property in Haskell, Oklahoma, and began building Lakyn's Ranch.
In May 2025, Lakyn faced another battle when her cancer returned. Once again, she met the challenge with incredible courage and is now in remission after defeating rhabdomyosarcoma for the second time.
Today, Lakyn's Ranch is home to our family's reining horse program and stands for the faith and grit that carried her through. Every horse, pasture, and improvement on this ranch was inspired by a little girl who refused to give up.
Lakyn rides every day, surrounded by the horses she loves. As we look toward the future, our greatest hope is to one day watch her ride into the reining show pen, pursuing the dream that inspired this ranch from the very beginning.

The Process
Started correctly. Pushed honestly.
Prospects in this program are selected for pedigree, conformation, and (most of all) mind. A horse with the stop of a champion and the mind of a freight train isn't suitable for the buyers Lakyn's Ranch serves.
Breaking and early development, including this year's yearlings, takes place at the ranch. Show horses are pointed at the competition calendar thoughtfully, not run into the ground chasing checks, but shown enough to prove the concept under pressure. Every horse earns its listing.
Finished horses available here have been competed at the non-pro and open levels. Started prospects are exactly what the label says: well begun, with the fundamentals in place, ready for a competent rider to carry them forward. Proven bloodlines
We buy and breed for pedigree, conformation, and mind. Every prospect traces to proven NRHA reining lines and carries full AQHA papers, and every listing names the sire, dam, and grandsires so you can read the pedigree yourself.
Quality feed and daily rations
Horses here get quality alfalfa, fortified grain, and measured rations for their age and workload. Good feet, good coats, and real muscle come from doing that every day, not from a push before pictures.
Hands on handling
Foals are haltered, led, and handled from the start. By the time a horse is a yearling it hauls, stands for the farrier, and trusts a person, which is what makes the next year of training go smoothly.
An honest foundation
Colts are started soft and brought along at their own pace. We would rather sell a horse that is truly broke and settled than one that looks further along than it is.
